Rules & Regulation
General Information

The rules and regulations have been made for the benefit of all library users and the cooperation of users in observing them is essential for the common good.
They are intended to promote:
  • Equitable access to all library materials, information sources and services.
  • The maintenance of library materials, equipment and buildings in acceptable and serviceable conditions.
  • The maintenance of a quiet environment conducive to study.
  • Proper conduct when using the services of the library.
Information for Faculty and Staff

Registration

To use the library, faculty and staff members are required to register by presenting a valid ID card or a letter of introduction from the Head of Division/Department.

Borrowing Materials

Each faculty member is entitled to borrow a maximum of three (3) books. Any member, who wishes more that three copies, must first consult with the college librarian. Books may be borrowed for a term. Non-academic staff members are allowed to borrow a total of two (2) books for two weeks.
Photocopying Services

Lecturers are required to fill out a Requisition Form signed by the Head of Department for photocopies. Lecturers who desire to have copies done should submit the signed Requisition Form, paper and documents to be photocopied, two (2) days in advance. Personal copies cost five dollars ($5.00) per page.

Media Room

Lecturers requiring the use of the Media Room should book at least a day in advance. The room can accommodate approximately fifteen (15) persons.
Materials Selection

Many brochures and catalogs of forth coming books and books in print are received from publishers. These are available in the library on request. Selections from faculty are always welcome. Forms can be obtained.

Please read these Regulations carefully, as ignorance of them cannot be accepted as an excuse for non-observance. By order of the Board, the Librarian, or any person nominated by the Librarian, has authority to maintain good order in the library and may exclude from it or suspend from its use any user who breaks Library Regulations. The Librarian may report to the Principal/Vice- Chancellor any person responsible for serious or persistent breach of such regulations: such conduct will be considered a breach of University discipline.
